Why Lemonade and Lenses?
(The Cocktail Version)
Lemonade and Lenses was created out of a desire for a place where photographers, beginners to seasoned pros, could meet, share, learn, grow and inspire each other along the way.
(The Story)
This was originally Lexi's (my daughter) lovely idea.
It started out simple enough. Plan a day for photographers in our surrounding area to meet up in person, connect and have fun for an evening. Of course, we would need a name and a theme. It would, after all, be a party.
Lexi chose 'Lemonade' as our first meet up would be in the summer and, well, lemonade goes with summer!
I chose 'Lenses' because...our group would be photographers and photographers have cameras and cameras have lenses and it sounded good together! Done!
Of course, the whole idea turned into a springboard for more ideas all revolving around community, sharing, learning, growing and friendship...which led to, a facebook page!
Now, our vision is to see this blog grow into an extension of our 'live gathering dates' and to be an open forum for fun, inspiration, industry and resource shares...just about anything that can inspire and empower all of us as creatives. So, here we are!
We would love to see everyone get involved, leave comments...come out and play with us!
And, we love guest bloggers. We have an amazing line up already. We are so excited to share!
Your Lemonade and Lenses' hostesses are photographers Gina Weathersby {kiwi street studios}
& Lexi Vornberg {Lexi Vornberg Photography}
Welcome! We are so glad you're here!

So, who are Lexi and Gina?
Who am I?
I'm Lexi and I am proudly following in my mother's footsteps by enjoying being behind a lens, not in front. I am a simple person. I love muted colors, quite, light and getting at least 10 hours of sleep at night. I also love my husband of almost one year and my two pups.
What do I like to shoot?
I {LOVE} working with high school seniors. Just something about their energy and excitement about life and the future really inspires me. I love light and everything organic.
What's in my bag.
Canon 7D and a 50mm 1.4
you can contact me at info@lexivornberg.com

who am i? (i prefer lowercase)
my name is gina, but i also answer to g, gigi or gretchalina. i won't tell you how many years i've been shooting, but i can tell you it's longer in years than my biggest girl, lexi, and she is 22. i can thank my father for putting a canon in my hands at 15 and a canon girl i have remained…except for my hassy, my contax, my diana, my duaflex and my assortment of polaroid cameras…i love photography...but, my biggest loves are my spee and my three girlies.
what do i like to shoot?
anything with soul and great light. well, not really anything. i believe in making images of what speaks to you authentically. you shouldn't have to dig too deep, it's right there. for me, it's children (real life or styled), models, actors, seniors, fashion, and now, food. yes, i am foodie shooter too and i love it!
what's in my bag?
canon 5d and 30d. 50mm 1.4, 85mm 1.4, 24-70 2.8 an original lensbaby and a 580 ex ii (rarely use it)
